A woman is dead after being struck by a vehicle in downtown Toronto.
Police responded to a collision on Mount Pleasant Road just north of the Bloor Street overpass around 7:30 a.m.
Paramedics told CityNews a woman suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash. Police later said the victim had succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver involved remained on scene.
Mount Pleasant is closed in both directions from Jarvis Street to Elm Avenue for the investigation. The ramp from Bloor to northbound Mount Pleasant is also blocked.
