A wildfire burning in the Central Okanagan, just outside of West Kelowna city restrictions is estimated to be 1.6 hectares in size.
The BC Wildfire Support claims the McDougall Creek blaze, which commenced Tuesday, is suspected to have been began by lightning.

The hearth is situated all around five kilometres north of the city and was originally sized at .6 hectares.
Nineteen wildland firefighters are on scene, together with 3 helicopters that are bucketing h2o from nearby resources.
BCWS says the fire is in a distant location, and that no constructions are remaining threatened. It also added that firefighters experienced to hike around 500 metres into the bush from the nearest highway to access the fire.
“We’re continuing to work on the fire’s flanks where it is harmless to do so,” BC Wildfire said Wednesday morning.
The fire is considered to be out of management, however an update is anticipated in the afternoon.
