Weather: Hot, humid conditions forecast for Saturday, T-storms possible Sunday

There is plenty of good news in the weather forecasts Saturday, with a few cautionary notes

Things are looking clear all day, no clouds, and a projected high of 31 C!

As usual in the capital, the humidity could be fierce, with a ‘feels like’ humidex of about 31.

The UV warnings are also worrying, with a forecast index level of 10, or very high.

So the usual cautions apply: Stay hydrated, seek shade and limit direct sun exposure if at all possible.

Saturday night’s low is expected to drop to 16 C under continued clear skies.

Sunday’s outlook starts sunny, but increasing cloud around noon could bring a 70 per cent chance of showers in the afternoon.

There’s a possibility of thunderstorm activity in the afternoon, so be alert.

Like Saturday, the high is expected to be around 31 C, with a humidex of 39 and a UV index of 10, or very high.

Showers should continue Sunday night, with a low around 17 C.

The outlook is cooler for Monday, with a forecast high of 21 C under a mix of sun and cloud. Skies are expected to clear Monday night, with the low dropping to 11 C.

Sunny skies are in the Environment and Climate Change Canada’s forecast for Tuesday with a high of 27 C and low of 14 C.

There’s a 40 per cent chance of showers in the outlook for Wednesday. The high should be around 24 C, the low 14.
