TTC suspends service on Line 2 due to emergency track work

The TTC says there is no service along a stretch of Line 2 Monday morning as crews perform emergency track work.

In a tweet at 5:33 a.m. just ahead of the busy morning rush hour, the TTC reported “no service between Woodbine and Kennedy due to an operational problem” and were operating shuttle buses in order to supplement service for passengers.

Subsequent tweets throughout the morning by the TTC indicated ongoing “major delays” on Line 2 Bloor-Danforth between Victoria Park and Kennedy stations because of “a mechanical problem.”

The transit service later indicated it was due to emergency track work.

“Customers can utilize GO Transit service connecting from Kennedy Station to Kennedy GO Station,” tweeted the TTC.

In its latest update just after 10 a.m., the TTC did not indicate how long the Line 2 service would be suspended.

This is a developing story and information will be provided as it becomes available.
