Environment and Climate Change Canada issued severe thunderstorm warnings and watches across almost the entire southern half of the province Thursday.

Tornado warnings were in effect into the evening inareas including Esterhazy, Regina Beach and the R.M. of Touchwood as thunderstorms rolled from west to east, prompting a band of statements from the weather agency.

Golf-ball sized hail was being reported around 7:00 p.m. following a storm tracked north of Bethune, with radar showing the storm could be creating tornadoes.

Watches for areas around Saskatoon and Regina warned of storms potentially bringing hail, strong winds and heavy rainfall.
