The annual Dancing on the Edge Festival of Contemporary Dance will celebrate its 35th year from July 6 — 16 at various venues and off-site outdoor free performances.

Canada’s oldest and longest running festival of contemporary dance has long specialized in presenting a range of world and local premieres of works from a range of local and national contemporary choreographers. This year will showcase 30-plus performances including new works, works-in-progress and more from companies from B.C., Nova Scotia, Quebec and elsewhere.
Performances will take place at Firehall Arts Centre, SFU Woodward’s, Scotiabank Dance Centre and other locations, including the popular Wreck Beach Butoh with Barbara Bourget & Jay Hirabayashi/Kokoro Dance on Sat., July 15, at 9:45 a.m. Full festival event listings, including free shows, are at the festival website.
