A former senator who resigned from the higher chamber amid a sexual misconduct scandal is now experiencing prison charges.

Don Meredith, 58, has been charged with a few counts of sexual assault and a person rely of criminal harassment, Ottawa law enforcement said Saturday.

The report from Lyse Ricard, who held the situation at the time, concluded Meredith experienced violated the chamber’s code of ethics by participating in a romantic relationship with a female when she was just 16 and suggested the higher home take the unprecedented move of expelling him.
