Police make arrest, lay arson charge in fire at Kingsmere Blvd condo

Police have made an arrest in connection with a deliberately lit fire at a Saskatoon condo building last week.

When fire crews arrived, the man had escaped through the bedroom window. The fire was brought under control at 5:41 a.m. and residents were allowed to return to their suites around 6:30 a.m. Damage was estimated at $35,000.

In a release Tuesday, Saskatoon police say that a 40-year-old woman was arrested on Monday at around 9:30 p.m. and charged with arson with disregard for human life. Police say that the woman allegedly started the fire and fled the scene without notifying the building’s occupants.
