Member of Parliamentary committee applauds Skinner’s resignation from Hockey Canada


A member of Parliament says that far more members of Hockey Canada&#8217s leadership team need to resign.

Sébastien Lemire&#8217s feedback came right after Andrea Skinner introduced her resignation as Hockey Canada&#8217s interim board chair Saturday evening.

Lemire, a Bloc-Quebecois MP who sits on the standing committee on Canadian Heritage, tweeted that Skinner made the correct decision stage down.

Skinner was grilled by the parliamentary committee Tuesday about Hockey Canada&#8217s ongoing handling of an alleged team sexual assault involving associates of the 2018 guys&#8217s nationwide junior team, and how it has paid out settlements in lawsuits.

Lemire wrote that &#8220for the great of all&#8221, Hockey Canada need to go on to cleanse property.
