At Riverdale Park (1069 Riverdale Ave.), crews will be replacing and installing new three-metre-wide asphalt recreational multi-use trails, as well as benches and garbage and recycling silos.

That work will begin on Monday and will be complete by July 30, weather permitting.

Also starting Monday is construction at Gateway Park, which stretches from 1271 Riverside Dr. to University Avenue, then from University to Wyandotte Street. Upgrades there include a fully-accessible asphalt trail with ramps, park benches, garbage and recycling containers, park lights, and signage for trailheads, wayfinding, and GPS location.

Work at Gateway Park is expected to be finished by this fall.

Both parks will be closed for safety while work is carried out.
