Ex-youth pastor charged in sexual assault of 2 girls more than 30 years ago

York Regional Police have charged a 64-year-old man and a 61-year-old woman in connection with alleged sexual assaults against two teenage girls dating back more than three decades.

Police say they began investigating last month after a woman came forward to report she had been sexually assaulted by two suspects between 1987 and 1990, when she was between the age of 13 and 17.

During the course of that investigation a second woman came forward and reported to police she had been sexually assaulted by the same male suspect between 1992 and 1993, when she was 13 years of age.

Both victims were members of the Banfield Memorial Church in North York, which the suspects also attended.

Raymond Swash, who held the position of Youth Pastor and Youth Leader at the church in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and Sandra Swash have been arrested and charged.

Investigators believe there may be other victims as the two were also involved with several church groups in York Region, Hamilton and Niagara Region. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
