Drake announces October World Weekend lineup as ‘road to OVO Fest tour’

Drake likely heard the prayers of his fans because on Wednesday he announced a star-studded lineup for “the Road to OVO Fest Tour.”

October World Weekend is coming to “turn up the city” in just a couple of weeks, according to his Instagram.

Drake posted Wednesday night announcing the dates and lineup for the weekend festival, quoting it “the road to OVO Fest Tour,” indicating it is not OVO Fest, but a sort of pre-game.

Fans are already sharing their reactions on Twitter.

The first night, Thursday July 28, will be at the live music venue History. According to Drake’s post, this night will feature All Canadian North Stars.

Friday July 29 will feature Chris Brown and Lil Baby at Budweiser Stage.

The third night on Aug. 1 at Budweiser Stage is a Young Money reunion with Lil Wayne and Nicki Minaj.

In the caption below his post, Drake says he is “currently working on bringing OVO FEST around the word in 2023 for the 10th Anniversary.”

OVO Fest started in 2010 and since then, Toronto has seen artists like Kanye West, Eminem, Jay-Z, and The Weeknd onstage.

The last OVO Fest was in August 2019 as the festival was paused during the pandemic. Fans have been eagerly anticipating the next one since.

Although OWW is not the official return of OVO Fest, it is a pretty good kickoff.

Tickets for OWW go on sale on Friday on Ticketmaster.
