Deputies shoot, kill Arizona gentleman immediately after wife warned of ambush


BLACK CANYON Metropolis, Ariz. (AP) — Sheriff&#8217s deputies fatally shot a gentleman during an exchange of gunfire exterior his residence in a distant space north of Phoenix soon after his spouse warned in a 911 call he may well attempt to ambush them, the Yavapai County sheriff&#8217s business office explained Saturday.

The sheriff&#8217s place of work reported it has questioned the Arizona Department of Community Safety to examine Friday night&#8217s officer-associated taking pictures of Thomas Henzler in Black Canyon Town.

Deputies responded to the household about 45 miles (72 kilometers) from Phoenix after Henzler&#8217s spouse reported at about 10:30 p.m. that he was intoxicated and experienced fired a bullet into the ceiling, sheriffs reported in a statement.

She told the 911 dispatcher her husband realized she would call law enforcement and experienced begun to assemble ammunition and set up an ambush on the only access issue to the home, a bridge with a distant-operated gate, the statement claimed.

The dispatcher also explained to deputies she listened to Henzler telling his wife in the history that he would shoot at regulation officers to “do a suicide by cop,” it included.

Fearing a hostage scenario, deputies asked for a SWAT team and DPS called in aerial assist just before the lady was in a position to securely exit and open up the gate, in accordance to the assertion.

About an hour afterwards, Henzler came outside and was walking toward deputies when he opened hearth. Deputies shot back again, putting Henzler, who later on died, the sheriff&#8217s office environment explained.
