York Regional Law enforcement have arrested a 2nd person in connection with a violent assault on a 37-year-old lady who was kidnapped months later in Wasaga Seashore.
On Dec. 20, 2021, law enforcement officers say Elnaz Hajtamiri was attacked by two males and strike with a frying pan in an underground parking garage on King William Crescent, in the place of Yonge Avenue and Bantry Avenue of Richmond Hill.
Investigators say a passerby intervened and the suspects fled in a car. The passerby was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening accidents.
The suspect vehicle, which hasn’t been recovered, was deemed to be stolen from the place of Don Mills Highway and Finch Avenue East in Toronto.
Law enforcement officers say they arrested Harshdeep Binner, 24, from Brampton, on Sept. 19 right after issuing a Canada-wide arrest warrant again in mid-April.
The 2nd suspect, Riyasat Singh, 23, from Brampton, was arrested on April 13 right after law enforcement executed a search warrant at a home in Brampton.
Both equally have been charged with tried murder, attempted kidnapping, possession of assets acquired by criminal offense over $5,000, and mischief more than $5,000. They continue being in custody.
York Area police say they are continuing to get the job done closely with the OPP in its ongoing investigation into Hajtamiri’s kidnapping.
Expenses laid in Hajtamiri kidnapping
In June, Ontario Provincial Police charged a person with the alleged abduction of Hajtamiri from a residence in Wasaga Beach front back again in January.
Police say Elnaz Hajtamiri — who also goes by the surname Tamiri — was taken from a residence by a few suspects dressed in law enforcement gear on the night of Jan. 12, 2022. She has even now not been observed.
Investigators say the suspects fled with Hajtamiri in what is thought to be a white 2016-2022 design Lexus RX sport utility motor vehicle. OPP officers have linked the abduction with an assault on Hajtamiri that happened in an underground parking large amount in Richmond Hill.
Law enforcement have charged Mohamad Lilo, 35, from Brossard, Que., with kidnapping connected to the 2022 incident in Wasaga Beach. He is also charged with tried murder and attempted kidnapping in link with the alleged independent attack in Richmond Hill.
